What it's for

Race day is the short step between the paperwork and the timing. It holds three doors: the Pre-race checklist under BEFORE THE START, and Activate an event and Clear chat under LIVE & THE HILL.

The live switches themselves — NOT LIVE / live, the active race, the live surfaces — sit in the rail's foot and the Timing Desk on every step, so there is one place to flip them (see Live surfaces).

Before you start

  • Entries checked, bibs on, start lists out (steps 3 and 4).

Steps

  1. Press 5 Race day on the rail. The step opens on Pre-race checklist; the door shows its count, for example 0 / 15.
  2. Work through the checklist and press Save.
  3. Open Activate an event and make sure the event is the one the Race Relay app shows.
  4. Go on to 6 Timing Desk.

What success looks like

The checklist door reads 15 / 15, the Activate screen says the event is live in the app, and the Timing Desk is next.
