Activate an event
Make this event the one Race Relay shows — its chats, documents and notes belong to it from then on.
What it's for
A club has one active event at a time in the Race Relay phone app. Activating an event turns it on there — days before timing starts — so the event's groups, documents and notes belong to it from now on. It has nothing to do with live timing: that is the NOT LIVE switch and the Timing Desk.
Before you start
- The event's Race Relay group set up (see Event access & chat).
Steps
- Open Race day › Activate an event.
The active event, and the switch to another - Read Active event. It names the event that is live in the app, or says none is.
- To make this event active, pick it under SWITCH TO ANOTHER EVENT › Choose an event…, type the NAME SHOWN IN THE APP if you want a shorter one, and press Activate.
- To take the active event off the app without replacing it, press Stand down.
What success looks like
Active event reads the event's name with live in the app, and the Race Relay app opens on this event's groups.
If something goes wrong
- The app still shows the old event: it is still the active one. Pick the new event under SWITCH TO ANOTHER EVENT and press Activate; one event is active at a time.
- Coaches see a different club's event: they are looking at that club. Each club has its own active event.
