What it's for

Set up is step 1 of the rail: the event's days and races, the race information that prints on every document, the run sheet, the race notice, and the officials.

Setting up the event

Before you start

  • The event from chapter 1, open on Event Info.
  • Dates, venue, disciplines, number of runs; the TD's and timer's names and email addresses.

Steps

  1. Fill the top of Event Info: Event name, Short name · race picker, Where (venue), Country (venue). Leave Event type on Non-FIS for a club race.
  2. Click the race on Day 1 and give it a Race name, Discipline and Level. Under Timing parameters check Number of runs (2 for a slalom) and press Save for this race.
One race card per race: date, name, discipline, level, runs
Event Info with the race card open
  3. Press + Add day. A second day appears with a race on it. Click that race, give it a Date, a name and a discipline, then Save for this race. A race without a date does not save ("A valid date is required").
  4. In the Active race card above the rail, press Change and pick the first race. Most Set up screens show nothing until an active race is picked.

    The Active race picker
  5. Open General parameters. Titles, footer and FIS reference are pre-filled; change what you need and press Save race information.
  6. Open Header info. Fill the jury (one row per role; tick Show to print it), the track, and the course setter and forerunners for Run 1, then press Save Header. Copy coursesetter & forerunners into Run 2 when they are the same.
  7. Open Run sheet. Type the first start time in Start time; the whole day appears. Press Save run sheet, then Push to comms (ROC / Jury) when it is agreed.
  8. Open Race notice, check the sections and QR codes, press Save (or Save as PDF).
  9. Under Officials, press Invite beside Technical Delegate. Search your club's TDs or type a name and email, then Send invite. The card changes from "Not invited yet" to the TD's name.
Name and email; they accept from the email
    Invite a Technical Delegate
  10. Press Manage beside Timer and invite the timer the same way. An invited timer sees only the events they are invited to.
  11. Open Event access & chat. Each invited person lists the event's races with a tick per race; untick one to hide it from them. Press Set up the event group to create the event's Race Relay chat; its Invite link appears. Pick the archiving mode and press Save for this event.

What success looks like

Both days show on Event Info with a dated, named race each; the Active race card names the first race with a green dot; the TD card shows the TD's name; Event access & chat lists the invited people and shows the event group's invite link.

If something goes wrong

  • A screen says "Pick the Active race": go back to step 4.
  • Save for this race says "A valid date is required": the race card's Date is empty.
