Lock bibs

A safety catch on one race's bib numbers so nothing changes them by accident. It locks the numbers and nothing else, and one press lifts it.

What it's for

Once the numbers are settled — printed, read out at the team captains' meeting, sent to the start — one stray press on 🎲 Draw or 🎫 Assign Bibs would re-scramble a start list already on paper. 🔓 Lock bibs makes that press say no instead. It is a catch, not a permission: it is your own switch, nobody else sets or lifts it, and one press unlocks it again.

It is per race. Locking the men's numbers leaves the women's draw free on its own screen.

Before you start

  • The Active race set to the race whose numbers are settled.

Steps

  1. Open Bibs & start lists. 🔓 Lock bibs sits top right of the draw screen.
One press locks this race's numbers; the button turns red
Lock bibs on the draw screen
  2. Press 🔓 Lock bibs. It reads 🔒 Bibs locked. Other locked races of the event are named beside it (· Men 0991 locked).
  3. To change a number later, press 🔒 Bibs locked once. It reads 🔓 Lock bibs again.

What the lock refuses, and what it does not

  • Refused on the locked race, each saying the lock is why: 🎫 Assign Bibs, 🎫 Assign bibs after top seed, ⚑ Assign special seeds, 🗑 Delete Bibs, and the typed BIB box.
  • Still yours: 🎲 Draw and re-draw (the order is not a bib), ⇅ Sort, Reset (the numbers stay), editing competitors, checking and changing points.
  • A press that does both — the ANC points update writes the points and seats the special seeds — runs the points and skips the bib part, and the result line says so.
  • It never blocks a start-list update: the Start lists sheet prints and releases as before, and the Timing Desk's lists are untouched.

What success looks like

The button reads 🔒 Bibs locked on the race with numbers on paper, and a bib press on that race is refused with the race's name.

If something goes wrong

  • A press on another race's screen is refused by this lock: the press reached the locked race (no Active race was picked, so it would have touched the whole event). Pick the race in the bar at the top.
  • You cannot find the lock: it is on the draw screen only, not in the menu.
