What it's for

Race Relay is Race Bureau on your phone. Everyone on the hill uses it: coaches and parents, volunteers, the timer, the TD and the organiser. It works like a group chat, with the race's live timing, documents and start times beside it.

It is a web app. There is nothing to find in an app store: you open a link, then add it to your home screen (see Install Race Relay).

Chats, with Live, Docs and Program along the bottom
The Chats screen with the four tabs along the bottom

The four tabs

  • Chats — your clubs, their event groups, private messages and your own groups. This is the home screen.
  • Live — live timing for the race you are following.
  • Docs — start lists, results, DQ lists and notices shared with your groups.
  • Program — the day's officials, start times, inspection and forerunner times.

A spectator who joined only a club's public chat sees two tabs: Spectators and Live.

The race bar

Under the header on Chats, Live, Docs and Program sits the race bar: ‹ and › step through the races of the day, RACES ▾ opens the list. The race you pick here is the race Live shows and the race Docs filters on.

One phone, one person

Your phone is you. The first time you join you give your name and email; after that every club, event and group you join lands on the same phone and the same person. A new phone brings your chats across with a code from Settings (see Settings).
