Timing & connector
Which system is the official timing (external timing software or Race Bureau timing), the timing-laptop connector and its licence token, and the .spro template library.
What it's for
The official timing choice, and how a timing laptop talks to Race Bureau. OFFICIAL TIMING is SkiPro (external timing software is the main system, Race Bureau can be System B; result fields, timing reports and FIS results still come from Race Bureau) or Race Bureau timing (Race Bureau's own Timing Desk is the main system). Until you choose, you are on your club's default and the card says so.
With external timing software chosen the page also holds the three-step connector set-up, the Logos folder the external draw software reads, and the Race-file templates (.spro) library the export is built on. With Race Bureau timing only the Connector token card shows.
Steps
- Open Settings › Race day › Timing & connector.
Official timing, Connect the timing laptop, Logos folder, templates - Under OFFICIAL TIMING, pick SkiPro or Race Bureau timing. The link below offers to switch your existing races at the club to the same choice.
- Under CONNECT THE TIMING LAPTOP: 1 press Download connector and install it once on the laptop; 2 press Create token and copy the Licence token at once (it is shown once; Race Bureau keeps only a fingerprint); 3 press Copy beside the endpoint, or Copy setup to carry host and token together.
- New token replaces a token in two taps; the old one stops working at once.
- Under LOGOS FOLDER, type the folder on the laptop (for example
C:\Timing\Logos) or press Choose folder…. Empty means every.sprokeeps the template's logos. - Under RACE-FILE TEMPLATES (.SPRO), press ⬆ Add template to upload a
.spro; ✎ renames, 🗑 deletes (second tap confirms). The template is picked at Export to Timing, not here. - Press 💾 Save Timing Software.
What success looks like
The connector on the laptop turns green with the token and endpoint, and Export to Timing offers your templates.
If something goes wrong
- Licence inactive: the connector stays red until Race Bureau marks your licence paid.
- No connector licence yet: ask Race Bureau support (hq@theateam.co.nz) to enable the connector for your account.
- You lost the token: press New token and paste the new one into the connector.
