Manage Start Lists
The desk's start list per run: the order, a bib typed in, a line inserted, and the Options menu that prepares a list.
What it's for
Manage Start Lists opens the Start List dialog: the desk's start order for Run 1 or Run 2 of the active race, one line per racer with Order, Bib and Name. Run 1's list comes from the draw on Bibs & start lists; here you adjust the order on race day, type a bib into a line, insert or delete a line, and prepare run 2. The dialog is the desk's list, shared by every timing window; the printed start list sheets live under Bibs & start lists.
Before you start
- Run 1 drawn on Bibs & start lists (only green-ticked racers are on it). Without it the dialog reads No start list yet — Options ▸ Prepare with Bibs, or draw it in Bibs & start lists.
Steps
- Open Timing Desk › Manage Start Lists and pick Run 1 or Run 2 under RUN.
- Find a line by BIB or LAST NAME. ⚙ Columns shows points and other competitor fields.
- Select a line and press ↑ or ↓ to move it. Only the order changes; a racer who has started keeps their line.
- Double-click a Bib to type another number into that line. ⊕ adds a line.
- Press Options ▾ for the prepares and the tools:
- Prepare with Bibs, Prepare with Bibs (Draw) (racers keep their bibs; only green-ticked racers still to start are seeded).
- Prepare from ranking of another run (see Run 2), Prepare from ranking after a run, Prepare from ranking of a run in another race or event, Prepare using another start list, Prepare according to an event ranking, Prepare according to championship / points list.
- Prepare track with a draw, Prepare track accord to bibs (even / odd), Prepare track with inverse of a run — dual and parallel races only.
- Load from a file.
- Insert a line, Delete a line, Insert a group of Competitors on the active line, Move a group of Competitors up to the active line, Delete a group of Competitors (a forerunner only, one at a time).
- New start time for the first to start, Insert a time break.
- Competitor columns…, Delete the list, Start lists — Race Bureau's own screen.
- Press OK to keep the changes, Cancel to drop them.
What success looks like
The desk's Start area shows the order you set, and the count of racers to go matches the list.
If something goes wrong
- A prepare is greyed with Run 1 is not finished yet — N still to start or on course: it needs a finished run.
- Run 2 has no list: prepare it first.
- Only a forerunner can be deleted here — one at a time, with ✕: a racer on the entries is taken off in Entries, not here.
- On a race timed with external timing software: the list follows that software's frame; change it there.
